Harambee Stars Squad named for CECAFA Four Nations Tournament in Tanzania

Kenya’s national football team, Harambee Stars, has travelled to Arusha, Tanzania, for the CECAFA Four Nations Tournament with head coach Benni McCarthy naming a strong 25-man squad on Saturday morning.
The tournament will serve as a key build-up for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Goalkeepers Farouk Shikalo, Byrne Omondi, and Sebastian Wekesa have been named in the squad, while the defence includes Siraj Mohammed, Manzur Suleiman, Pamba Swaleh, Abud Omar, Alphonce Omija, Sylvester Owino, Michael Kibwage, Daniel Sakari, Lewis Bandi, and Kevin Okumu.
The midfield options include Brian Musa, Alpha Onyango, Austin Odhiambo, Ben Stanely, and Marvin Nabwire, with the forward line led by Masoud Juma, Boniface Muchiri, Felix Uluoch, Mohammed Bajaber, David Sakwa, Ryan Ogam, and Austin Odongo.
Coach McCarthy said the tournament comes at a crucial time as the team prepares for CHAN.
“It is a good tournament to gauge our preparedness for CHAN. We are going to face formidable opponents and that will clearly show us what is working and what needs to be fixed,” he said.
Kenya will open their campaign against Uganda Cranes on Monday, 21 July at 3PM, then face hosts Tanzania on Thursday, 24 July at 4PM, before wrapping up the group matches against Senegal on Sunday, 27 July at 1PM. All matches will be played at Karatu Stadium in Arusha.
